Dreaded Jake Porter – Robust Porter

Category 12 — Porter/12B. Robust Porter  is one of my favorite beers to brew.   My version of a Robust Porter I call “Dreaded Jake Porter” named after our chocolate lab that passed away in 2013.  This has been one of my most award winning beers along with my Southern Brown.  I hope you enjoy brewing this beer!

19B. English Barleywine – Dreaded English Barleywine

When brewing a Big Beer there is nothing more rewarding than a good English Style Barleywine.  You have to give it time to mature to get the wonderful flavors this beer has to offer.  My advise to brew it then forget it for 6 month (still very young) to a year.  If you make 10 gallons i suggest splitting up the batch and age in a bourbon oak barrel (time in barrel to your taste).

18B. Belgian Dubbel – Dreaded Belgian Dubbel

I wanted to share with you one of my favorite recipes.   The Belgian Beer styles are one of my favorite beers to brew and drink.  This recipe has done very wellfor me in competitions over the year and it also drinks very easy!!!   If I was stuck on a deasert island and only have 1 beer to drink for the rest of my live it would be the Belgian Dubbel!!  Enjoy the recipe.

14A. English IPA (India Pale Ale) – Dreaded English IPA

This is one of my favoriate recipes to make all year around.  I love the IPA style but the English version is really good especially since in  the  IPA category you tend to get the BIG American versions of this style.   A well made English IPA will stand out agains these bigger American hopped IPAs.
